Jen has been part of the IRRE team since 2014. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Portland State University, where her research explored motivational dynamics in classrooms between teachers and students as they relate to how students respond to challenge – their ongoing engagement, ways of coping, and eventual re-engagement or disaffection.
Skilled at wrangling messy (real!) data, Jen develops systems that can incorporate schools’ existing data in whatever form it exists, automating the process where possible. She enjoys using her expertise in measurement and survey development to help guide actions to improve educational systems in sustainable ways.
